Basic Elements of Cleaning and Sanitation for Food Facilities and Packinghouses
What: This one-day workshop is designed to provide participants with the necessary tools to develop, implement, control, and monitor cleaning and sanitation procedures for small food facilities, packinghouse or any other small operation where food is processed and packed for retail and/or food service purposes. Participants will be exposed to the principles of cleaning and sanitizing food contact surfaces, regulations regarding chemicals used to clean and disinfect these surfaces, hazards within the food/produce industry, personal hygiene, personnel practices, control measures and monitoring tools specific to their cleaning and sanitation practices, writing cleaning and sanitation SOPs and the basics within design and construction of food facilities. Additionally, participants will be exposed to hands-on activities tailored at demonstrating some of the practices specific to cleaning and sanitation procedures.
